Some background! I am very close to a cellist friend of mine. When we first met, when I'd never had a bf (boyfriend - remember I use it for that!) we both admitted we had feelings for each other. I don't date outside my faith though, so it never came to anything. These days, feeling lonely and single, I remember back to then and kick myself for letting him go. We're still really close but there's no hope of us dating.
I look at you and I see what might have been. If we’d lived different lives, Been different sexes, Met different people, Had different interests. I look at you and see what might have been.
As much as I miss you now, I love you And I always will. You’ll always be a part of my life ‘Cos I can’t take it without you. So goodbye My almost lover.
And so bf became best friend And bf became gbf.

That's such a beautiful poem, Akido. Short but so much impact.

I have just sat down after work and was feeling grumpy and bleh. What a kind, supportive, encouraging comment to find! Thank you so much

I'm sure you would have done the same for me, Akido.

Aw, this is something special. As already said short but good. It really strikes home too.
