"Who am I? Good question," she chuckled, Russian inflections twisting around her accent again. She still had the cigarette in her hand, but she hadn't smoked any and although it was burning, it wasn't building up ash or burning down.

Ell took her time, looking the girl up and down slowly. If she caused trouble no-one would listen. She could kill her anyway. Hm, but maybe - ah fuck it. She probably wouldn't even believe it.
She shifted so that she should have been reflected in the window, but of course, nothing appeared. She gave her that smile again. The one where people said they expected vampire fangs to sprout from her gums.
"What do you think?"

Topaz noticed Ell's lack of a reflection. It made her feel uneasy. Very uneasy.
"I... think... I'll just go..." said Topaz turning away, like the coward she never was.

Ell chuckled. "I asked what you think?" she asked, shifting to block Topaz's route out of the alley.

Ell smiled, her inscisors showing just slightly pointed. "Not quite. Right track though." She waved her right hand and the cigarette vanished as a puff of smoke.
She was gradually shifting, morphing although certain changes were impossible to detect as it was so very gradually. She was gaining height and losing weight, and her bone structure was gradually changing until she was in her full, mannequin-esque impossible perfection.

Ell walked forward and clamped a hand over Topaz's mouth. But the hand was insubstantial and she had about as much effect on Topaz as a hologram. She pulled the hand away, looking angry with herself and rather unsettled and upset.

"Well that didn't help!" Topaz continued to scream. Nothing was going to stop her. She was so scared. Topaz almost slapped herself. She was scared of her own imagination - she tried to calm herself.
