Last of the Land

Flame snorted, glad Tolitio had stepped in. Necro and Saliri had been acting like hatchlings! She flicked her thoughts into her mate's mind. By now the two of them were used to just slipping in and out of a mental link with each other. ~It must be something serious to get the two of them riled up... Maybe?~

Cautiously, Ursha tapped Kana with her talon. Her eyes were on the events beginning to unfold, however, so she didn't even bother to say 'tag you're it'. She stared. What had gotten into those two?

Necro rolled his shoulders, "Saliri jumped me, it's her you should be asking what's going on in that empty little head of hers."
"I want to see your palm you inbred son of a -", Saliri mumbled the end of her sentence through Tolitio's tail as he kept it clean, defending his hatchlings precious little ears from the profanity. She growled and bit to get Tolitio to move his tail out the way, she got scales and nothing else but her wishes for his tail to move were clear, even though it did chip a couple of her pointed teeth. He moved his tail, "Remember my daughters are here, I will not have you swear around them. Now explain."

Kana tapped Ursha with her tail without thinking, her concentration caught by the others.

Saliri rubbed her teeth as they grew out, then chipped themselves back to needle-sharp points, she spat out the broken fragments. "Either he just stole a part of Kana's soul, formed a bond with her, or your daughter did either of those two things. That reason enough for you?"
"I did no such thing."
"Then why hide your palm?", Saliri made an accusing twitch of her eyebrows at Necro, "Hmmm?"

Flame's eyes flickered with rage. She gathered herself to her full height and came to stand beside Necro. She lowered her head to his level. Curling her lip up to expose her teeth she spoke, punctuating her sentence in a rolling growl. "Necro. Explain yourself. Now."

Seeing her mother's anger, something that rarely happened, Ursha immediately shrank back. She may have been a fighter but she knew better than to stay too close to a full grown- and rather peeved- dragoness.

Necro pulled off his gloves, revealing the surprisingly furry flesh underneath, and tucked the material into his pocket. The entire time, glaring at Saliri as though plotting her death. "You're all such children.", he pulled off the furred gloves which had given the illusion of furred flesh and put them in his other pocket. With his now fully bare hands, it was clear to see why he kept his hands covered. The magical symbols shone and glittered in the shadows of his own body and seemed to drink in light, making themselves into shadows in the light. He turned over his hands so his palms were visible. "These are detection symbols when used on their own, satisfied?", he ran his palm infront of several things and the same silver flash moved between the object and his palm.

Tolitio growled, he already didn't like Necro and this was just more of a reason. The hatred ran deep.

Kana shrank back with Ursha, she wasn't keen on her mother finding out what had actually gone on. She didn't want her feelings to be known.

Flame relaxed a little. She puffed up her chest a little and folded her wings, holding her head high and commanding. A little bit of her general days shined through. "That is satisfactory..." Her eyes flashed with deep hate for a moment. "Though don't you dare call us all children. That 'all' includes myself and Tolitio I point out and both of us are well older than the hatchling age." Her tail swept over the ground threateningly as if it might hit into Necro any moment. Her rage still had not fully subsided just yet.

"Behaviour isn't just about age, and to be to the point about this, you believed Saliri there who, on several occasions on this little expedition of ours, has attempted to kill us all and turn us against each other at some point. Then you proceeded to accuse me of something as foul as stealing a part of Kana's soul. Honestly, it's a childish thing to do and quite frankly, if I were at all interested in petty words like the majority of so-called intelligent life on this planet then I'd be asking you to apologise.", he glared for a moment then walked off to the East where hot springs were common, "Assholes.", he muttered under his breath.

Tolitio growled loudly and pounced Necro from behind, "Do not. Speak. To my Wife. Like THAT!", he roared. Necro, pinned under Tolitio's claws, turned into shadows and slipped out from Tolitio's harsh grasp. The shadows split and flew infront of the old dragon's face. Tolitio swiped at them, teeth bared, but they just slipped between his claws before forming into a very pissed-off Necro directly infront of Tolitio's snout. The air seemed to turn cold as Necro raised his hands, his gloves back on somehow, and the crackle of magic between his fingertips could be heard. "Don't. Tempt me. Dragon.", his eyes red like fire, glowing harshly as he glared directly into Tolitio's eyes. Then in a flash of movement he vanished.

Kana gawped. "What...."

Flame's body went rigid. She immediately rushed to Tolitio's side and snarled. "He had no right!" she said in both comfort for Tolitio and a statement to herself. Rage flashed within her bright yellow eyes turned them dark for a moment. Bane sensed her rage and smirked within her mind. He always had the advantage when the dragoness couldn't keep herself calm. Still he would wait. Let her be angry and let it destroy her.

"How dare he begin accusations back when all I was concerned for was my own daughter's safety! I don't care if it was a suggestion from Saliri or not! It was within my own rights to question him to make sure Kana was safe!" she spat, tail lashing back and forth.

Ursha inched back, eyes wide with terror. "Oh crap."

Kana stepped infront of Ursha, "Mum, please calm down... Please, before you lose control."

Tolitio just closed his eyes and sighed, "He's kind of right though... I guess we just don't trust him, and with good reason... But why trust Saliri, taking everything into account?"

Saliri saw this as her queue to sneak off before they turned on her for instigating all of it. She slinked by Ursha, hoping not to be detected.

Whipping her head around to look right at Kana, Flame growled. Then she blinked a few times and her golden eyes lightened back to their proper shade. "...I'm sorry Kana." She said, back to her usual motherly tone.

~Drat. I was enjoying that.~ Bane thought to himself. He kept the comment open enough for Saliri to hear.

Ursha looked in Saliri's general direction for a moment but turned her attention back to her mother quickly. She scampered over to her father. "Dad? What are we going to do now?"

Saliri mentally laughed ~Me too. It's always fun to annoy a dragon.~

Kana shrank back from Flame a little and took a couple of steps back. Flame had scared her a little, the young hatchling hadn't seen her mother like that before.

Tolitio thought quietly for a second, "I have to go to the North Lands, maybe it would be safer if you all went back home...", he lightly wrapped his tail around Flame's in a dragon hug, hoping to reassure her that things were okay.

Necro looked back, towards where the rest of the group was, and shook his head lightly. "Let them walk into danger... Let them....", he closed his eyes and leaned against a nearby boulder. He could taste the hot springs, they weren't far, but something tugged at him to go back. So distracted he was, that he was completely unaware of the Divine sneaking up behind him. Metal flashed.

Kana froze, something felt strange, like she suddenly had the desperate need to fly somewhere very fast. She didn't understand it, but she didn't like it. Did Ursha feel it too?

~Oh yes... my my what is my favorite little Divine up to? Do I sense some adrenaline going through those lovely veins of yours?~ Bane purred in response.

Flame sighed heavily. She wrapped Tolito's tail with her own tightly, not letting go for a long while. "Be careful..." She made sure their gazes met. Silent understanding passed between them and she willed him to understand the 'please, for me' that went with it.

Looking at Kana, Ursha tilted her head. "What...?"

~I'm disposing of a threat to the other Divine. Want to see?~ she didn't wait for a response, flashing an image of Necro and herself fighting, Necro already badly injured with a knife buried in the side of his chest, into Bane's mind.

Kana's tail flicked, "Do you feel it?", she whispered to her sister, "LIke you've got to be somewhere?", the very sensation she was talking about twinged in her mind and she found herself feeling the rising need to be somewhere until it became so strong that it tugged her mind towards the hot springs. Her voice grew so quiet that it was difficult to hear, as a shiver ran up her spine, "Necro....", and now with all-seriousness she looked at her sister, "He needs help.". Her wings had unfolded and she was in flight before anybody could have tried stopping her, and sped off like a bullet.

Tolitio nodded, "Of course." ~It's going to be okay.~

Necro gripped his side, circling with Saliri. It stung, as though the blade was poisoned.

~Oh how wonderful... do be careful Saliri. From what I have seen of him he can have a nasty little thing called resolve. We wouldn't want you getting hurt now would we? Or at least I am sure I would not despite your high threshold for pain.~ Bane responded, amused by the image. He made sure Flame was blocked off completely, not allowing her to see the battle or hear his conversation. It was easily disguised enough as his usual activities.

Ursha panicked. "Kana!" she cried, snapping her own wings open. She tried to jump into the air but found herself only a little above the ground. She was no match for the speed of her sister and Kana was well off into the horizon line.

~Will it?~ Flame replied with a sorrowful tone. Hearing the sound of flapping wings, the silver dragon took an alert look around. Her eyes went wide when she noticed Kana missing. "Kana?"

~Now now Bane, don't make it sound like you've fallen for me.~ Saliri teased ~Somebody may think the vampire found a heart~ She pulled another blade from a hidden sheath and prepared to strike at Necro again. It would be harder this time as he could see her coming, but he was weakened and wouldn't be able to defend as easily. Necro spat out a little blood, it was black and burned into the ground giving off the smell of death. He watched Saliri, taking in every movement she made, secretly gathering up shadows, draining his energy carefully.

Kana followed the fading twinge in her mind, trying almost desperately to find the source. She was taken by surprise as it began to throb, she dropped in the air barely managing to control the descent before she stabilised and regained altitude. The throbbing directing her towards Necro who she could just see in the distance if she tried hard enough. ~Ursha, Necro's in trouble.~

Tolitio looked around, "Jeez that kid's fast. KANA!", he opened his wings and threw himself into the air, chasing after the young hatchling.

~Oh no Saliri, not at all. I just wouldn't want the one person I can stand to talk to for more than a span of a minute before ripping out their heart to end up skewered on a blade.~ Bane replied quite coyly.

Flame began to pace back and forth, tail twitching during every movement. Her worry was growing. With Tolitio gone after Kana she had no way of knowing what was going on. Ursha needed to be watched, though and it was her duty as a mother to stay behind to do so. Still she didn't like it.

Ignoring her mother's anxiety, Ursha tossed her head with a sigh. ~Trust you to run off after him... How bad is 'in trouble' exactly?~
