"Well enough," Sandine said as she leaned over sideways with one arm extended over her head. The other touched the tip of her toes. She bounced over to him and gave him a cheerful kiss on the cheek. "Planning to get dressed any time soon?" she teased, nudging him in the stomach. "We might be fighting later. I don't think you'll want to be so exposed- nice as you look."

Dodend smirked and moved to whisper in Sandine's ear, "I'm open to a little play fighting if you'd like to test my readiness.", he winked, kissing Sandine's cheek softly, morning stubble tickly on her skin. He glanced at Drath, "Any trouble last night?"
"No traps were triggered, just normal wildlife.", he checked the position of the sun, "If we get moving we can reach the tracker by nightfall." "We'll keep a comfortable pace, no sense running ourselves ragged and leaving ourselves vulnerable.", with a satisfying pop, Dodend released the tension of a vigorous night's exercise.

Sandine didn't even flinch at the pop sound, instead retaliating with a few of her own. She shook her head. "I'll leave the test for another time," she replied. The elven woman seemed relieved that nothing had come through in the night. She really didn't feel like dealing with things when she first woke up. Nobody wanted a battle when they'd not yet rubbed the sleep from their eyes. "Ready to move when you two are," she teased.

Drath looked up from his coffee with, what could only be assumed, an impatient look, "I've been ready over an hour. Waiting on both of you to get up."
Dodend chuckled and slipped into the tent, emerging a moment later fully dressed. The worn denim of his favourite travelling jeans were a welcome change to the thicker combat ready armour he usually travelled in, letting more of his heat escape. While the black tank top afforded him a wide range of movement, clinging to his chest and broad shoulders. With a wave of his hand the tent folded and packed away into his backpack, which he slung over his left shoulder with ease, "There, I'm ready."

"I need my beauty rest."
She eyed Dodend's clothing change with a smirk. She gave him a nod of approval. She took up her things and packed her daggers with care. They were her favourite thing after all- aside from Dodend that is. She shot Drath a pointed look. "There, we are ready. Let's get the horses and go." With that she left the two of them alone to fetch her bay horse.

Dodend watched the sway of Sandine's ass with a smirk for a moment before following, pulling a sugar cube from his pocket and rolling it between his fingers idly. The large stallion nickered as it spotted the sweet treat, trampling the ground on the spot excitedly, "You know Drath, it's your sickly beast of burden that will slow us down on the trail. Poor thing's probably still tired from trying to keep up with this brute and the bay yesterday."
"The horse will be just fine. She can serve her purpose then retire. You're stuck with that brute until somebody is foolish enough to try and take it off your hands.", Drath gently mounted the sickly mare, guiding it onward at a fast walk without another word.

Overhearing, Sandine let out a soft giggle. "And good luck to them." She stroked the bay's neck affectionately before she worked on bridling and saddling up. She hopped gracefully onto the horse's back, leaving much to be desired from Drath's poor job of it, and trotted over to join them. She took her place by Dodend's side. Her horse was as lively as she. Every toss of its mane echoed her elven wildness.

Dodend smirked letting the stallion snatch the sugar cube from his hand before slipping up into the saddle and adjusting his weight so he was comfortable, "They'll need more than luck I'm guessing.", he chuckled. With a couple of pats to the neck the stallion reared before settling down and padding along the trail.
They rode for hours, stopping briefly to let the horses rest before setting off again. By second sunset, a wooden hut came into view downhill. It was just another 20 minutes ride away, taking it slow down the steep decline. "Do you want to set up camp for the night? We could get down if we don't hit too many snags on the way down, but I don't fancy getting caught halfway down when it gets dark."

She pulled the reigns of her horse and circled around Dodend's. "What do you think?" she asked. She glanced ahead. "Even if we get halfway we won't have too much trouble? I can see." Elves and their low light vision. She was thankful for it. She had to keep a tight grip to keep her overly enthusiastic mount from barreling down the hill.

"I'd leave the horses up here overnight and travel down on foot. We might be able to see, but horses get panicky on uneven terrain in the dark, especially if they feel a hoof slip at all.", the soft glow of fire light shone invitingly through the windows of the cabin below, "But I don't mind staying with the horses up here and heading down tomorrow if you'd rather not navigate down.",Dodend steadied the fidgety stallion below him with a warning tug on the reigns. It snorted at him irritably.

The bay tugged, trying to go. She sighed and tugged the reigns straight back so the horse would take some steps back. She dismounted and handed him the reigns. "Take good care of my horse," she instructed carefully. "I will go ahead and see what we're dealing with." She grabbed a dagger off her hip and spun it. "Be back in a flash."

"I'd tell you to be careful, but I know that's silly.", Dodend chuckled, guiding the bay away from the steep decline and hitching her on a loose line to a thick tree, doing the same with his stallion. With deft hands he slipped them free of their reigns and hooked a feed bag each over their faces. With a quick look over for any injuries from the ride he leaned against the tree's trunk and waited, the sound of the crunching oats keeping him company while Drath saw to the sickly mare.

"Very," Sandine agreed. She removed her shoes and left them with Dodend. "Better off without them," she insisted before bounding down the hill. It did not take her long. She slinked along the side of the cabin and peered into a window. She hoped it was somebody- preferably unarmed- living there and not something worse.

Within the cabin an old man sat warming by the fire, hunched in his saggy old chair. He appeared to be human by the lack of any obvious signs of alternate species. By his side was a worn coffee table, strewn with various medicines and a glass of wine. By all counts he was an ancient old man relaxing at the fire, a lazy and fattened little dog wrapped around the back of his slippered feet, snoring loudly.

Satisfied, Sandine made her way back up the hill. She took her place back by Dodend's side and put her dagger back onto her hip. "No thread. Just an old man." She said. "Dog, slippers, fireplace, the whole retirement stereotype."
She stretched lazily. "No danger as far as I could sense."
