In the town of Cazari two figures walked down through the marketplace. The taller of the two had a watchful eye on the surrounding areas, looking out for a place to rest. The shorter of the two was fully cloaked and the hood completely covered their face.
"Octa, is there a place we can rest. I am tired from all this walking," the younger and shorter one said, with a soft childish voice. His stomach rumbled. "And hungry too."
Octavis scan for any sign of an Inn and seen one not that far ahead. "Yes, there is a place. It is just a little further." Octavis put his hand on the younger ones back, guiding him toward the Inn.
They entered the Inn and Octavis went to the front desk to ask if they had any rooms to spare. Aishi lifted his hood a little so see could see out. He looked around the dark room seeing an archway that led to the bar ahead and stairs that probably led to rooms at the left. "Aishi?" Aishi turned to Octavis.
"Yes?"
"We have a room. They are going to bring food up," Octavis said waving a key in Aishi's direction. "Follow me." Aishi nodded and followed Octavis up the stairs to their room.
Once in the room, Aishi was finally able to take off his cloak . "That thing is heavy," Aishi said with a cute pout.
Octavis smiled sympathetically as he dug his tail out from the back of his trouser and flapped his little wings, that he had folded under his long silver hair. "I know but it's just until we find that necklace, then you can walk about without it."
Aishi went to sit on the one large bed they had and rubbed his large ears, which had been pushed down by the heavy leather cloak. "I suppose I can put up with it."
There was a knock at the door and Aishi ran behind the door. Octavis hid his wings and tail again. He opened the door to a young female human that had a tray of food. "Ah thank you." He handed her some human coins and closed the door.
Just as he placed the tray on the bed, Aishi quickly ran from behind the door to the bed and began quickly eating. Octavis chuckled at the younger and he too ate.
Octavis watched the younger as he ate. It had been about three days since they had had anything decent to eat. But hopefully once they get this necklace they wouldn't have to move around too much longer.

A large dragon made a point of slowing down in the air before attempting to land. It's great, black bulk overshadowing most of the area. "Lord Tolitio, good evening to you sir! Anything I can do for you?", a squire bowed to the dragon, just in time to dodge the rough edge of a folding wing. "Nothing thank you squire. You may return to the duties of your master.", the dragon bowed it's head and padded along the streets towards the enlarged market, specially designed for all races to be capable of buying and selling items that would, otherwise, go to waste. The dragon was one of the few left in existence. His name, Tolitio the Light, though it contrasted with his scales. His sheer size suggested he had seen many years since he had hatched.
Tolitio had caught wind of a disturbance somewhere in the Earldom, though he wasn't sure who was responsible or where it had been caused. He had been sleeping at the time, and his senses had been nowhere near as useful in such a state.

After the pair had finished eating, young Aishi was feeling sleepy and Octavis let the boy sleep on the bed. When the boy had fallen asleep Octavis quietly stepped up to the side of the bed and pulled the sheet over Aishi's sleeping form. He smiled fondly and went to the window and sat in front of it. His slitted gray eyes watched for anyone suspicious.
He watched amazed as a large dragon landed a bit in the distance. Octavis had seen dragons before but never one of that colour or size. He was impressed by the site of the dragons graceful landing. Octavis averted his eyes and looked down at the street below. He glanced back at the sleeping form of Aishi.
He thought about going out and leaving Aishi in the room. He wanted the boy to sleep but didn't want to leave him vulnerable. Octavis picked up the key for the room and grabbed his cloak. He put it on and left the room, making sure to lock it behind him.
He left the Inn and kept a look out for a shop called 'Secret Hidings'. He had go to down a few streets before he found the shop. He entered though the wooden door and pushed his hood off his head.
"Can I help you?" Said a creepy old man who was behind the counter.
"Yes, I heard you have a special necklace. One that can make the user look human," Octavis said looking around at the strange objects in the room.
"Why yes sir I do have something like that." The man pulled out a small wooden box from under the counter. He lifted the lid and Octavis was looking at a small simple necklace. There was a golden circle that hung from a brown chord. The gold circle had a strange symbol on it. Octavis reached out to take it back the man pulled it away. "How much are you willing to pay for it?"
"Nothing until I know it works," Octavis said coldly to the creepy man. The man pulled out a large mirror and handed the necklace to Octavis. The demon pulled the necklace over his head and stared amazed at himself in the mirror. He reached up to touch were his wings would be and he couldn't feel them. He looked behind himself and couldn't see his tail. Even his slitted eyes had turned to normal human pupils. Octavis took it off and he turned back to normal. "I'll take it."
The man snatched it from Octavis. "For how much?"
"I'll give you twenty gold coins for it." Octavis pulled out a bag of coins and set it on the counter. The man greedily grabbed the bag and started the count the coins. He glanced at Octavis and then the necklace.
"You know that's a rare necklace. You won't find many of them. Give me thirty gold coins."
"Do you think I have that much on me?" The man looked at the sliver watch that was attached to Octavis's belt. Octavis followed the man's gaze. Octavis growled at the man in irritation. He pulled out another bag of money. "Here take this. The necklace is mine now."
"Yes, yes," the man said grabbing the money and waving Octavis away. The demon took the box and turned to leave. He smirked to himself and left the shop. He had walked only two steps away when he heard loud cursing from the man. Octavis walked faster and hid in the alleyways. I smirked wider as he walked back to the Inn. He was glad he had some magic coins with him, it always became useful when greedy people wanted more money.
Octavis entered the Inn and went back up the stairs to his and Aishi's room. He stood outside the door which was shaking. "Let me out! If you don't I swear Octa will be back to beat you all up!" Shouted Aishi from the other side of the door.
"Aishi," Octavis called out calmly. He unlocked the door and closed it behind him. Aishi rushed to him and hugged him tightly.
"I thought they locked me in here," Aishi said softly as he buried his head in Octavis's chest.
"I locked you in here so I could get this." Aishi let Octa go and watched as the older demon opened the box.
"Is that the necklace we came here to get?" Aishi said looking between the necklace and Octavis. The older nodded. Aishi carefully lifted it out of the box and put it on over his head. Octavis was a little startled by the difference it made in Aishi's appearance. The younger rushed to the mirror in the bathroom. Octavis followed him and watched Aishi touch were his horns and markings used to be. "Wow," Aishi said in awe. He turned to Octavis and hugged him. "Thank you."
"Your very welcome, little one." Octavis hugged him back with a soft smile.

There was a knock at the door. "Escusei-moi gentlemen, but I have been asked to bring you some food and drink," called a voice. French, probably. Female, definately. She knocked again. "Please gents, I ask for no money, just take the food."

There was a harsh roar from the market a few streets away and an obvious criminal was seen flying through the air. "Stab my tail again, I dare you!", a rush of golden flames barely missed the criminal before the black dragon from earlier caught the criminal with ease, "Next time you consider trying to do ANYTHING like that again, you'll remember this very moment!", there was stunned claps from a forming crowd, a few held rotten fruit. The local watch ran in from nearby, gratefully taking the criminal from the dragon and running off towards the holding cells. Tolitio bowed, "Stay safe, your collective minds will see you through.", he nuzzled a small child, "And you should be more careful little one.", the crowd backed away and returned to their normal lives, "Thank you people of Cazari.", he padded down the street towards the smell of roasting meat.

Octavis stepped out of the bathroom and narrowed his eyes at the door. 'More food?' He thought unsure if he should open the door.
"Octa can I open the door?" Aishi said, his large red eyes looking hopeful. Octavis thought this over for a moment.
"Alright, but I'll be right here," he said hiding his wings under his hair. "Go." Octavis pushed the younger male to the door.
Aishi grinned happily as he opened the door. "Hi! Just put the food on the desk," he said happily.
Octavis eyed the stranger up and down watching for any sudden or suspicious movements.

"Ah, monsuir, you are..." she searched mentally for the word "suspicious of me? I am a taven worker - it is to be suspected." She sighed and set the tray down but did not leave.

Aishi walked beside the human, amazed that he could finally do this without feeling like he was in danger. "I'm Aishi. What's your name?" The young redhead asked looking between the stranger and the food.
Octavis leaned against the wall. He narrowed his eyes more at the stranger when she talked to him. He wasn't fond of strangers. He glared at her when she didn't leave. "Do you want something?" He asked coldly.
Aishi turned to Octavis looking annoyed at the older demon. "Octa be nice," he scolded.
Octa just crossed his arms over his chest.

Octavis narrowed his eyes more. "I can do what I wish." Octavis smirked dangerously. He tapped his sword, "unless you want some trouble that is."
He stiffened as Aishi got closer to her. "Have you worked here long?" Aishi asked.
"Why do you know my name? I never told you it." Octavis was starting to not like this girl, or that fact that Aishi was getting so close to her.

Octavis lifted and eyebrow. "But I'm not asleep," he said a little confused.
Aishi looked between the two confused by the conversation.

"Really? Oh, so you're not," purred the woman. She smacked Octavis between the eyes and he was knocked unconcious. "You are now," she informed him.

Aishi's eyes widened as Octavis landed on the floor with a heavy thud. The demon boy backed away from the lady and over to Octavis's body. "Octa?" He said hoping the other would wake soon.

The black dragon set into flight, vanishing towards the horizon. Heading towards his homeland.
