"Lady please leave us. I wish for just Octa to look out for me. He has been doing a magnificent job for over a century and a half. So please, just leave us." Aishi voiced his hand holding on to Octavis's leather top and the other hand holding his dagger.

"Listen, egghead," snapped Louisa. "You should know of the bengosha then? Race of defenders, disguised as humans, bound by our very DNA to protect our assignments? So shut the HELL up and LET me do what I'm. HERE. TO. DO!" she shouted.
"I've lost all patience, mate so just let me do what I need to do."

Octavis growled loudly baring his teeth. "Fine but I won't like it. Do your job then." Octavis growled as he went to the bed and took off his weapons.
Aishi looked to Octavis then to Louisa and back. "Octa? Are you sure?"
Octavis shrugged. "She's ain't going away any time soon so yeah. I'm sure. But," Octavis turned to Lousia. "If you fail to do your job and Aishi gets hurt know that I will personally hang you from a tree by your toes and gut you with my nails." Octavis turned away from her and turned to Aishi. "Come on, you need a bath."
"No!" Aishi giggled and Octavis grinned. He chased the younger around the room, but letting the younger be just out of reach.

Louisa swung out her arm as Octavis was about to run past and grabbed his thoat and she had the older demon half a foot off the ground in less time than it took Aishi to blink. She looked him in the eyes.
"If anyone's making threats here, it will be me. And dear gods, I've been doing this for 500 years. You think I'd still be doing it if creatures got hurt under my care?" she asked him calmly but with a sharp note of danger in her voice.

Octavis's hand flew to hs neck when it was grabbed. He rolled his eyes. "I was just saying because Aishi has been in my care for many years and I do not wish ANYTHING bad to happen to him. So please kindly put me down and let me take care of my charge the way I have for so many years."
Aishi stood near the pair eyes wide. "Silly lady put him down!" He said loudly, getting really annoyed with this lady that had suddenly came into his life.

She laughed bitterly. "You don't get this, do you, bone-skull?" She laughed again, incredulous that this still wasn't sinking in. "I have a duty, a job, to protect you - both of you. Now I'm really tempted to snap you, just to teach you a lesson, but won't. I am not here as an ornament. If you think I will sit back, shut up and only appear if you happen to be dying you are wrong. I WILL be doing my job to the utmost. Do we understand one another?"

"Yes. We. Understand. Each. Other." Octavis said through gritted teeth. He moved towards the bathroom his hand on Aishi's back to direct him in the same irection. While Aishi walked he warily watched the lady. He shivered and tapped Octa's shoulder.
He leaned up to whisper in the older man's ear. "I don't want her to come in while I'm getting a bath."
Octavis smiled knowingly. "Don't worry about it." They both entered the bath and Octavis locked the door while Aishi got the bath running. When it was ready Aishi stripped, taking off the necklace as he did and went into the bath. He sighed happily as say into the warm water. "Like that?" Aishi nodded.
"It's been a while since we've got had a proper bed or bath," the younger said picking up the soap to wash himself. Octavis kneeled at the side of the tub. He took the soap from Aishi and washed his back.
"Yeah it has. But at least we don't have to do so much sneaking around. We can go home after a couple of days rest, if you want?" Octavis asked.
Aishi nodded. "But where would 'home' be? We can't go back to your old house," Aishi said sadly.
"True, well we can live wherever you want," Octa washed off the soap from the younger's back.
"I want to live in the Dominion of Demons. I don't feel out of place there. Just it can't have any Cremals there, they'd be able to smell me," he said washing the soapy bubbles off himself.
"Don't worry, I don't intend to live anywhere near them."

Louisa sat down wearily, rubbing her temples.
'Why the hell can't he just accept this?' she thought. 'I know he feels I'm replacing him, but heck. Verrater."

Aishi climbed out of the bath and Octavis wrapped him in a towel. The younger dried himself off as Octavis dried Aishi's long red hair. Aishi put on his undergarments and the pair went into the other room, where Louisa was still. Aishi looked at her warily and looked at the food she had brought in. He bit his lower lip in thought.
Octavis saw this and grabbed a piece of the food and ate it. "It's not poisoned," he said while he chewed on the chicken leg. Aishi smiled and rushed forward to eat some of the food. Octa smiled and took some more of the food myself.
Once Aishi had had his fill he yawned and moved to the side of the bed. He went in and snuggled into the pillow. Octavis tucked the boy in and kissed his head. "Night Aishi." The younger just nodded as he fell into sleep.
Octavis smiled at the boy before looking to Louisa. He walked towards the door signaling for Louisa to followed him.

Lousia stood and calmly followed him outside. "Don't suppose you speak Russian or Swedish, by any chance?" she asked him when they were outside.

Octavis softly closed the door behind them. "I do speak Swedish. Why do you ask?" Octavis leaned again the wall and crossed his arms.

"Good," sighed Louisa, now speaking in Swedish. "Just they're my joint first languages, and speaking in tongues gives me a headache sometimes," she explained. She paused.
"What can I do for you?" she inquired softly, all of her former frustration gone and with no trace of the aggression she had showed the mystery intruder.

Octavis nodded in understanding. He relaxed a little in the woman's company. "If this is going to work then you need to regain Aishi's trust. If you don't this will be a lot harder than it should be," he said replying in Swedish.
"You need to prove to him that you will not harm him or myself. I'm all Aishi has left."

"Honestly? I'm not particularly fond of you, or of the fact that you have to be with us, but I can cope with it. Aishi is more of the problem now. He distrusts you."
Octavis ran his fingers through his long silver hair with a sigh. Today was getting longer than Octa had hoped for. He desperately needed to sleep, having not done so for the last three days.
"Look you don't need to worry about me, it's just Aishi you need to worry about, okay?"
