Ems growled, her top lip curling back, revealing her fangs, "It's Mrs, and I don't like you.", her voice was ragged. Worn down to the very stub of humanity. In a flash of light, Ems was gone.
The rooftops had a welcoming cold as she removed the amulet which granted her a shred of the world she had barely seen. "Altrianis.", she cracked her neck, "Irt maganiv gloustra migranich.", her accent cut the air like a superiorly sharp sword could cut through a newspaper which had been in the rain for a couple of days and was still soggy.

An empty voice. "Always running to the roofs. Always hiding in the skies. But how long can you hide for, Emsa'rdina Nrian? How long can you run away from me?" A cold chuckle.

Ems shut her eyes, broadening her mind to the world around her. She slid an ordinary looking dagger from her sleeve and threw it with sudden speed and force directly towards a disturbance of the air. It slammed into the woodwork of a nearby roof, " I do not fear you, therefore, I don't run from you. Why do you always hide in the shadows or behind deception, are you afraid to actually speak to me, or is it a fear of what you think you know about me?", she opened her eyes and they flashed, "Which is it Thearni?"

"Thearni? I think not," chuckled the voice. "And you are, Ems'ardina Nrian. That poor barman would not be picking up shards of glass now if you hadn't reacted. I can feel the anger and confusion in your blood."

"Who the hell do you think you are?", Ems growled. She cursed silently in her home language. She hated it when somebody referred to blood, it made her feel hungry. Her sword was a welcoming feeling of cold metal within her reach.

"Think? I know who I am...but you must learn what lurks within before you can know what you are. See you later, Ems'ardina." And with that, there was silence.

Ems growled, "You said my name wrong, and you could never understand.", she lowered her voice, "Nobody can...", she slid from the rooftop into the street, and began to look for a lodging for the night.

"You cannot fail in your mission," said the other figure, dressed in black. The senior bowed. "I know..." then she vanished.

Ems slid to the outskirts of town where she had learned barely any humans inhabited. She entered a nearby building with boarded up windows and doors before shifting in complete privacy. Her wet nose was a comforting feeling, sitting there, waiting for her t inhale and take in the scents of the human world in a new way. The air tasted stale on her tongue as she panted, happy to be capable of so many things and remain in control. Her golden fur blurred as she ran from the building, the former necklace around her neck, now a collar with a charm where her tag would be. Dogs watched as she ran past, following a pre-laid trail of scent with definite ease. Her paws were silent despite the force they hit the ground at, and her tail followed behind her like a small child's balloon followed in the wind.

"My patience is growing thin, bistiarii-kun," he snarled. "Gomen nasai, sensei," murmured the junior. "You may perform tricks, bistiarii, but you need my power," he snarled giving her a slap that sent her sprawling. She could have easily stayed still but she knew better.

Ems found her target, the drugs dealer from earlier. She crouched in waiting until his more recent clientèle were gone. Her fangs sank into the cooling flesh of his arm as she yanked him backwards into the deep alleyway, "Think it's funny to give them drugs?", she growled into his ear. The dealer held back a scream of fear and tried to get away.
