Evangeline squared her shoulders and cracked her neck, "Sorry... I'm a bit passionate about it. I guess I may have over reacted a little.", she hid her eyes under her hand, seemingly to protect them against the sun, "It could be that or my eating habits, not sure which.", she gave a reassuring laugh of some kind and took a bottle of pills from her pocket. They were labelled as anti-acids, but that seemed unlikely as vampires don't need to deal with heartburn unless somebody shoves a burning stake through their chest. The little red capsule vanished into her mouth and down her throat in one swift movement. Necro sneezed and rubbed his nose as though something had agitated his sense of smell. He eyed Evangeline with a skeptical look before walking up behind her and giving a sharp sniff. "I see what you did there.", he smirked.

Flame ignored Necro's comment and readjusted her position. She seemed a little fidgety, especially at the scent of the pills. For a moment her claws gripped unusually tightly into the ground, leaving the tiniest of indentations rather than the normal no sign at all. She shook her head to clear it, dropping her hazy wall over the irritating secondary presence in her head. Even with hundreds of spells and restrictions there was always some sort of reaction out of him that could slip by.
Ursha rolled over in her sleep, kicking her feet in the air during her nap. A little bit of smoke escaped her nose with a snort and a grumbling sound came from her as if she were snoring.

Evangeline stretched and concealed the bottle of pills in a pocket, "Well, I'd best be leaving now I'm sure. Can't just hang around here all day now, can I?", she rolled up her sleeves, revealing a strange wrist cuff with small dials and a fairly large screen with a green dot blinking in the top left of it's display. She fiddled with the dials and the green cursor moved around, leaving a series of dots behind, forming a map.
Kana sneezed.

Flame raised an eyebrow ridge, giving her face a puzzled expression. Dragons weren't known for much else than their scaled faces yet they were quite capable of displaying all the same emotions as a human. She then narrowed her eyes as if examining the dots. What were they? Where did they lead to?
~Love?~ she asked, slipping into Tolitio's thoughts with a practiced mind. ~Where do you suppose those lead to?~

~Anywhere and everywhere, maybe nowhere. I don't know this woman well, but she is mysterious.~ Tolitio narrowed his eyes in thought.
Evangeline fiddled with the dials some more and the air crackled to her right. There was a light hiss of electricity as a bright light came into existence to her left. The light swirled like smoke, forming a dense oval of smokey, bright strangeness. The edge glowed with a strange energy, the inside still swirling away hiding whatever could be at the other side. There was a quiet beeping as she tapped on the small screen at her wrist, highlighting a series of dots. Each one she tapped brought up a small list beside it, the words so small it was impossible to read them without being near the screen at the correct angle, a space occupied by Evangeline's body.
The portal fizzed for a moment before revealing the dark interior of a building. Air passed from the other side, turning to steam as it reached the heat of where they stood. It was cold on the other side. "How long have you had that wrist device Evangeline?", Necro eyed the wristband curiously.
"Experimental technology. Confidential information."
Necro smirked with a small chuckle, "In other words, the blueprints were left on your desk one day and you made it for yourself out of curiosity.", he poked a finger through the portal and pulled it back through. The heat turned the tiny layer of ice to water on his skin, "This goes to the North Lands?"
"How this device came about is none of your business Mr Intrith, I shouldn't need to tell you that. As for where this gateway goes, no. It's not the North Lands. North isn't the only cold place on this world."

~Shall we investigate? I'm sensing something...familiar. I have not felt this in a long time,~ Flame said. She passed the tugging feel into his mind, letting him share the sensation. It was as if an unseen bond had come into existence, something long forgotten. She glanced over at the hatchlings. She didn't know what to do. ~We can't just leave them though...~

Tolitio tilted his head ~Maybe we could hitch a ride through that strange portally thing?~
Necro smirked, "Evangeline, could that device you're wearing transport a dragon of say... Tolitio's size, to somewhere like...", his smirk grew, "The Province of the Wolves?"
Kana sat up straight and opened a channel to her sister ~Province of the Wolves? That's off-limits to everyone isn't it?~

~Yes, it should be,~ Ursha replied with a puzzled sort of feeling. ~Why would Necro want to send them there?~
Flame nodded. ~We could but I don't feel good about leaving Ursha and Kana. We can't exactly take them with us if we're going to investigate something that mysterious and potentially dangerous.~

"I suppose it could, but why would you want to know?", Evangeline was genuinely interested by this. "Well, according to your fancy watch there's an active portal in the Province, and I know somebody who uses portals regularly and could be of good help to the group."
"And who would that be, if I may be so bold?"
"Just a little somebody called Emsar'dina Nrian.", Necro gave a coy smile. Evangeline blinked silently and shut off the other end of the portal immediately.
Tolitio looked over at Necro ~Seriously?~
Kana was even more confused now, ~Sis, you don't think they'd leave us behind do you?~ she didn't want to be too far from Necro.

~I don't think mom would. Dad might but only temporarily. Not sure about Necro. He seems to do his own thing,~ Ursha replied truthfully. She winced slightly in worry. ~I don't mind being on our own for a bit but that seems unusual.~
Flame raised an eyebrow ridge. "Ems? Really?" ~I wonder if she's what I'm sensing...? No. Seems too foreign. This seems different. I can't quite figure it out.~

Necro smiled politely, "Open the portal Evangeline, I'll be sure to leave it out on the comment card about my delivery."
His voice cut in mentally to Tolitio and Flame, ~I doubt it's actually Ems, but it seems like somebody familiar doesn't it? Might be worth checking out at least. The young ones would be safe in the Province while you went to deal with things in the North at least. Nothing stays in the Province minus a few deer and some rats.~
Tolitio couldn't believe he was actually considering this.

A small humming came from Flame as she mulled it over. It was a low sound that reverberated in her chest and left an echo in the mental link. ~It sounds safe enough... but I will be reinforcing it with some wards. If anything tries to hurt my babies I will know and I will not tolerate it. It is a shame we are not near any fellow Ardentis Anima dragons or riders. I'd feel less on edge if Ursha and Kana were with them.~
She flicked her tail in minor annoyance but begrudgingly let out a small sigh. ~I'll agree to it. You're right that it's worth checking out. The two of them know enough to be safe if they come across anything unsavory as long as it is nothing large. I personally hope it is Ems. Things are always more interesting with her around.~

Evangeline fiddled with her wristwear and the portal fizzled as it opened at the other side. Ruins of a small village came into view on the other side, "I've opened the nearest portal to the active site, from what I can tell it's below the other one.", she promptly 'sorted' her outfit, undoing a button to show a little of the girls. "What's this ems like in person? I'd like to discuss some business with her."
~I'll look after your young for you at the other side until you feel safe, after all black scales here did help save my life. I have a debt to pay that way.~ Necro pointed out. Tolitio tilted his head side to side a couple of times before nodding, ~I agree too, but I'll be keeping my eye on you Necro.~

~Be careful. They're...feisty. Dragons tend to be especially when young. Make sure they eat. I do not want to hear about hungry hatchlings. Be careful. Don't get burned and- Oh there I go being motherly. Just... don't do anything stupid. They'll run you into the ground if you do,~ Flame advised. She went through her mental motherhood checklist as she spoke.
Ursha eyed the others in silence. She suspected half of the conversation was mental. This meant there were things she was meant not to hear. ~I think they are leaving us. Otherwise why not talk out loud where we can hear?~
